Hi Everyone,
Boy, has the Toronto weather ever been changeable lately. One day nice and warm; the next, snowing again. I am itching to get going in my garden. The snow has melted in the front but not in the back. Our hellebore is sprouting and is two inches above ground already. And, there are snowdrops flowering in a few front yards. I have seen and heard cardinals, the crows are raucous, and we had a migrating juvenile red-tailed hawk in the back yard a couple of days ago. It is staying lighter in the evenings. Spring is well on its way and I, for one, cannot be more relieved.

Peptitas (Pumpkin Seeds)
I came across a note I had found on the benefits of pumpkin seeds (pepitas) and thought I would share it.
- It is high in anti-oxidants
- It can reduce blood pressure levels and cholesterol
- It may reduce the risk of cancer
- 100 grams of seeds provides 30 grams of plant-based protein
- It prevents kidney stones
- It may improve bowel and prostate health
- It is high in magnesium, zinc, iron and healthy fats
- It is full of minerals
- It reduces inflammation in arthritis
- It promotes good sleep
The recommendations are to have a small amount every day rather than a large amount all at once. If you google “benefits of pumpkin seeds”, you will find considerable information about them.

Good News re Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEFT)
I was recently asked about using Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEFT) for cancer treatment. I have known about this as an alternative treatment for some time and am delighted to discover that it is now being used as an adjunct to western medicine. When I looked up the research on PEFT, I discovered that it has had longstanding FDA approval in the treatment of bone healing and is noted for accelerating recovery in bone growth. Some studies on osteoarthritis show a 60% decrease in pain scores. Other studies have shown that it reduces back and neck pain. FDA has also approved PEFT for clinical use for treatment of liver and many other cancers. It uses tumor-specific radio frequencies to block cancer cell growth without affecting healthy tissue.
