Well, it is finally summer! I am so happy with the warm weather. I know many people who don’t like the heat, but I’m not one of them. I am delighted with all the plants in my front garden. They are thriving even though they are shaded by the giant blue spruce. Here are a couple that are blooming now. |

This month I want to talk about two articles I came across recently. One is about a new cancer treatment and the other is about Alzheimer’s treatment. I love good news and it seems we are getting precious little of that lately.
There are many alternative cancer treatments which have not been accepted by the medical profession. However, in recent times, some scientists have wanted to get beyond the surgical, chemotherapy and radiation treatment that is commonly practiced today. |
Cancer Treatment Breakthrough

The breakthrough in cancer treatment comes from a research team from Rice University, Texas A&M University and the University of Texas (2023). They have discovered a remarkable way to destroy cancer cells using amino cyanine molecules.
Amino cyanine molecules are already used in bioimaging as synthetic dyes. They are commonly used to detect cancer, are stable in water, and are good at attaching themselves to the outside of cells. The researchers published a study last year that found that stimulating amino cyanine molecules with near-infra red light caused them to vibrate in sync, enough to break apart the cell membranes of cancer cells.

The second article is about a woman, Judy Benjamin, who is currently walking across the U.S.A. to publicize her success in recovering from an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. She was 67years old when she was told that she was suffering from Alzheimer’s. Her mother had recently died of the disease and she was completely devastated. She is now 81 years old and in the midst of an epic walk to prove to herself and others that reversal of Alzheimer’s symptoms is possible thanks to a science backed protocol.
Dr. Dale Bredeson has written two books documenting his research The End of Alzheimer and the Ageless Brain. Dr. Bredeson treats each person individually, based on their lab results, and Judy Benjamin is living proof. Indy, my ten year old, and I have been reading “Joey and his friend water” together and he absolutely loves it; and so do I!
I would love to get a few more copies to share with some friends…it’s really struck a chord with me and I hope you will let your friend (Ellen Lewinberg) know!
Indy generally is not drawn to books particularly so to see him take such a liking to a story that he’s actually asking for us to keep reading it said a lot about the way in which she was presenting the material; and touching a child who is so inherently drawn to nature said a lot!
