One Mind
How Our Individual Mind Is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters
by Larry Dossey, MD, Hay House (October 1, 2013)
When I first read the book jacket for Dr. Larry Dossey’s One Mind, I thought this could just be another book that takes psychic phenomena and makes it the subject of science. I was pleasantly surprised after I began reading.
As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Dossey has experienced both the science and spirit of healing the body and mind first hand. The “miracle cures” of his patients drew him into studying alternative medicines. This thirst for understanding had him sharing his discoveries by authoring 12 books and serving as Executive Editors of the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine and currently for Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing.
In this book, Dr. Dossey uses real world examples to demonstrate the existence of psi phenomena. He also implies that these phenomena have spiritual, ecological, and ethical connections.
He cites evidence that shared knowledge and perceptions at distant ranges are possible and even common. Dr. Dossey pulls data from research and provides us with illustrative stories, near-death descriptions, and remote viewings. He fills his pages with many interesting stories. Some of his shared-knowledge and emotion examples I have also witnessed between people who are close – maybe you have, too. Other examples include people communicating to their pets, messages from someone who has died, and even finding lost objects through mental perceptions.
Dr. Dossey covers such a diverse set of subjects that I found his book mind-expanding. He addresses the mind beyond the brain, immortality, near-death experiences, reincarnations, savants, twins, and self-healing to name a few topics. He seamlessly shows us how these phenomena provide evidence for “one mind” and our shared dimensions. It is a very interesting and easy read book.
If you would like to explore more about psi phenomena, this would be a good book for you to read.
