Going on six months now, I have been practicing the ancient Chinese wellness practice of qigong (chee-gong). My friend and energy practitioner colleague, Judith Schutz, has taught me the seven-basic moves of Dragon and Tiger. She’s also encouraged me to continue. Judith no longer has to encourage me – I get it. Before leaving on our holiday in July, I helped our son by working out in his yard. It had been at least two years since I worked in… Read more »

Long distance healing
A time for healing while sheltering at home By now I know you understand that I read a lot of books, articles, and follow some social media. Human Heart, Cosmic Heart: A Doctor’s Quest to Understand, Treat, and Prevent Cardiovascular Disease by Thomas Cowan, MD, Chelsea Green Publishing (November 3, 2016) Fascinating book that challenged my thinking about how our hearts work. I learned much from reading this book. It reinforces my belief that good health and healing requires a whole-body approach that includes your mind and spirit. Dr. Thomas Cowan describes himself as a doubter — a nonconformist. It was his unending search for knowledge that… Read more »
