Brain Bliss

Bliss Brain:

The Neuroscience of Remodeling Your Brain for Resilience, Creativity, and Joy

by Dawson Church – March 22, 2022

I am currently reading Bliss Brain by science writer Dawson Church. He includes research that he and others have conducted on brain plasticity and meditation.

Dawson describes in detail how meditation affects different parts of the brain. His book includes directions on rapidly reaching Bliss Brain using his developed method, EcoMeditation.

What interested me about the meditations and why they work is that Dawson Church has created a meditation that includes the Emotional Freedom Technique, Heart Math, Loving Kindness meditation, and others.

EcoMeditation

I’ve copied his instructions here. However, I recommend you purchase his book. I find it fascinating. Dawson made the steps easy to follow so that novice and more experienced meditators could follow them.

You can also visit Dawson’s website. On his EcoMeditation page, you can download audio instructions for these life-improvement steps.

From his Book Bliss Brain:

EcoMeditation

  1. Tap the acupressure points to relieve stress.
  2. Close your eyes and relax your tongue on the floor of your mouth.
  3. Imagine a volume of space inside your body, particularly between your eyes.
  4. Slow your breathing to 6 seconds per in-breath and 6 seconds per out-breath.
  5. Imagine your breath coming in and going out from your heart area and picture a sphere of energy in your heart area.
  6. Send a beam of heart energy to a person or place that makes you feel wonderful.
  7. Now send a beam of heart energy to the entire universe.

In his book, Dawson explains all these steps in detail and describes which aspects of the brain are affected by meditation. At the end of each chapter, he links the meditations he uses for that chapter and other links for deepening your practice.

Effective Mindfulness Techniques

According to Dawson, Effective Mindfulness Techniques (EFT) or Tapping “…is such a powerful psychological tool that, once learned, can change anyone’s life.”

I’m sure that’s why he includes it in his EcoMeditation practice. He offers instructions on how to do EFT Tapping on his website.

Healthline lists the nine most popular meridians or acupressure points for tapping, in what order, and their corresponding organs. I’ve included them here for easy reference and to show you the simplicity of his EcoMeditation. I truly encourage you to buy Dawson’s book, Brain Bliss.

Tapping

  1. side of hand, sometimes referred to as “karate chop” (KC): small intestine meridian
  2. top of head (TH): governing vessel
  3. eyebrow (EB): bladder meridian
  4. side of the eye (SE): gallbladder meridian
  5. under the eye (UE): stomach meridian
  6. under the nose (UN): governing vessel
  7. under the mouth – (Ch): central vessel
  8. beginning of the collarbone (CB): kidney meridian
  9. under the arm (UA): spleen meridian

From Healthline | EFT Tapping

I practice the meditations for a week as I finish each chapter. I’m completing week three. I will let you know how I do. It takes 8 weeks.

Meanwhile, look for happiness in all that you do.

Healer Workshop Update

Teaching others how to use bioenergy to heal themselves and others has become my passion over the past decade, and it continues to grow. My workshop format works for my students.

Becoming a Bioenergy Healer: What students say.

The workshop I taught in June went very well. The students seemed to grasp the lessons and practices easily and gave us positive reviews.

“Welcoming, clear, well-structured. I liked that we had so many opportunities to practice. The small group size was perfect. Thanks for the handouts. Very helpful. Thank You!”

“The workshop was amazing. I felt really empowered to heal myself from a recent stroke, and my brother and family of various ailments. The workshop was easy to understand and had just the right amount of practice and lecture. Thank you, Ellen!”

One of my workshop students who has been practicing bioenergy healing for a while, sent this note to me from one of her clients:

“Thanks, S_____,  had my last nurse visit today, and she said,
‘I don’t know how you got through this much treatment with as little side effects as you have had. Most people have rather extreme burns and internal pain. Do you have Tylenol for the trip home?’
I said, ‘I don’t have any pain;
I am sure the energy healing really helped. Again, thanks so much, S____.”

Join Us.

Join us to become a bioenergy healer. We hold two workshops a year. The Fall Healer Workshop will be held on October 19 and 20, 2024. The class is from 9 am to 4:30 pm on both days.

This workshop will be in person in Toronto, Canada. The cost is CAD $375 per person plus HST ($375 + HST = $423.25). Find more information on our Healing Workshop page.

Please share this newsletter if you think others might be interested in helping themselves and others to heal naturally. The more bioenergy healers on the earth, the happier the world will be.

Meanwhile, stay healthy.

Good News Awakening

Recently, a friend sent me to another place where I can find Good News. It is called Fix the News.

I appreciate this site. I don’t listen to the regular news because it is too negative. (Remember the news motto is “if it bleeds, it leads!”)

As a Reminder, here are the other Good News sites I have shared before, along with Fix the News.

All sorts of wonderful things are happening in the world that we never hear about. Get a positive lift by checking out these sites for Good News.

Meanwhile, stay healthy and happy.

P.S. Starting in June, I will be writing two newsletters a month. I respect your time, and the shorter messages will be easier to digest. Topics include improving your life, reading books, checking out websites, and being healthy naturally. “Less is More,” as the saying goes. Research recommends sending short newsletters weekly. However, two a month will fit my writing schedule.

Watch for my following newsletter in about two weeks. In it, you’ll read about my latest book and exercise steps to help you reach what the author calls “bliss brain.” I’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks now with some success. I see its potential, and I want to share it with you.

If you are not a subscriber to our newsletter, sign up below and become a subscriber today! Feel free to share this blog post with your friends and family who may find it helpful. These Good News sites can help make for a happier you.
